A Family Affair ~ Cabernet!
Part 2

Cabernet Sauvignon is actually a bit of a love child, with a purple parent and a white parent. It is the cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, hence Cabernet Sauvignon.
Legend has it that Cabernet Sauvignon was created when French vintners set out to create a new varietal.  Whether by design or by chance, this combination of opposite parents created a timeless, rich, hearty and robust varietal perfect for wine making that has established itself as the king of red wine varietals not only here in United States, but all over the world.

Join us as we get to know this illustrious family a little bit better!

Part 2

Come and Sample:

1. Manoir de Firetière Val de Loire Sauvignon  Cuvée d’Excellence, France, 2018     $12.99     ~  Silvia’s Favorite!
The nose is fine, deep and expressive with white fruits. The mouth is clean with powerful white fruit notes; very pleasant.

2. Zolo Signature White Estate Grown, Argentina, NV  $10.99                ~   The Wildcard!
This blend of Mendoza’s signature white grapes features friendly flavors of tropical fruits with hints of grapefruit and jasmine.

3. Côte de Costis Bordeaux Blanc, France, 2018   $12.99
Crisp citrus and tropical fruit. Grassy, refreshing & elegant. Above all, this is a consistently great value in white Bordeaux that is a perfect partner for chicken, fish and seafood in general.

4. Tapiz “Alta Collection” Cabernet Sauvignon, Argentina, 2015      $16.99
93 p James Suckling:
This is a fantastic wine for the vintage with a clarity and brightness on the nose and palate. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a delicious finish. 2015 was a tough year for Argentina but this is a beautiful wine.

5. Coniglio Cabernet Franc, California, 2014        $34.99
*additional glass $7
Soft and muddled in smoky oak and generous tannin, this wine mixes red currant, raspberry and dried herb, easygoing and robust on the finish.
