The recognition places The Refectory among the most notable French dining destinations in the state, celebrating the restaurant’s longstanding reputation for refined cuisine, exceptional hospitality, and a timeless dining atmosphere.
For nearly five decades, The Refectory has been a cornerstone of Columbus’ fine dining scene. Since opening in 1976, the restaurant has combined the elegance of classic French culinary tradition with a warm, welcoming approach to hospitality that keeps guests returning for celebrations, anniversaries, and memorable evenings out.
At the heart of that experience is the partnership between owner Kamal Boulos and Chef Richard Blondin, whose French culinary background continues to shape the restaurant’s menu with refined technique, seasonal ingredients, and thoughtful presentation. Together with the entire team, they have worked for decades to create a dining experience that feels both elevated and deeply personal.
This recognition comes at an especially meaningful time as The Refectory approaches its 50th anniversary in 2026 — a milestone that reflects generations of dedication from chefs, servers, sommeliers, and staff who have helped build the restaurant’s legacy.
Awards and accolades are always appreciated, but the greatest reward continues to be the loyalty of the guests who have made The Refectory part of their lives — returning year after year to celebrate life’s most meaningful moments around the table.
We are deeply grateful for this recognition and for the Columbus community that has supported us for nearly half a century.
Here’s to the next chapter — and many more wonderful evenings shared at The Refectory.
